manikmekanik
In the process of collecting/restoring Reattae, I come across cars/parts all the time.If you have any parts needs, send me a Private message, by picking my name anywhere, then goto the bottom of member page, pick "send a private message.I will respond, letting you know if I have your part, or who does/where to find it, if I can help.I'm not a car dealer, nor a parts store, nor a boneyard. Merely a collector who is willing to share my resources with other members/enthusiasts.Please take the time, and meager funds, to Join the Buick Club of America and the Reatta division, you'll be glad you did! manikmekanik
I've found another 91 drop-top I want to buy, yet the "WAR Dept." still stipulates I sell one, or more from the "herd" first.Catch me while I'm still in this "motivated" state of mind for the best price on the "herd" of Reattae, the Vette, or any of my other fine, (and not quite as fine) automobiles! Here's a quick run-down on "Herd" prices:1984 C4 Corvette - $88001988 black/tan/suede Reatta - $9991988 white/maroon Reatta - $12991989 claret/tan Reatta - $9991989 Silver/gray-black Reatta - $9991990 Red/tan Reatta convertible BCA Silver award- $99991991 Black/flame Reatta convertible (1 of 2 on road, 7 built) BCA GOLD - $34,999 or better offerI still have the other Reattae and other cars listed in this post available.-------------------------------------------------UPDATE:I've edited this thread to reflect recent changes to the prices and status of the "Herd"I've lowered the prices on all the coupes.I was recently informed the other Black/Flame '91 convertible was destroyed in a house fire earlier this year, making "Black Beauty" the ONLY ONE left on the road. It is identical to the last '91 Reatta convertible, which is held in GM's Heritage collection.I raised the minimum bid to reflect this car's ONE OF A KIND status. Being a unique guy, I love owning the last of these on the road, and my price change reflects my interest in keeping it, unless someone PROVES they want it more.We entered this car at the 2006 BCA national meet in Rochester, MN this summer, and won a Silver award at this national event. We also traveled to Lansing, MI for the Reatta reunion, hosted by April & Ron Gill. The odometer now reads @33k.

manikmekanik
It's still available, I'm banking that one for when I sell the red drop-top, or one of our houses, since Panikmekanik prefers white. The owner of the Claret 23k miler says she'll call this winter, when she's done driving it and ready to sell.Sure hope I can sell a house, since selling one car does'nt allow me to get two to replace it, by the bride's rules.Do you know anyone who would be interested in an executive-class, (or horse property) $400k+ home, with acreage, or LOCATION in the Chicago-Milwaukee area, namely Lake county, IL or Kenosha county, WI??? Mr Buick
Are the Black or Red convertibles still for sale? Would you consider a trade for a 65 GS?Johnemail: JSimonson@TDS.net
manikmekanik
I'll run it by my bride, Panikmekanik, and see if she'd be happy with a '65 GS!!Remember, the RULES say I have to SELL one before I can BUY another Reatta. If I sell one of our houses, I can buy two!The black one, "Black Beauty" is not available for trade, unless you have THE 1st Bonneville prototype car!! ncgirl05
Wow, this thread has been going for over a year! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Out of curiosity, how many cars have you sold since you started it Randy? manikmekanik
I've been ading more to this thread as members ask questions, or it needs a bump.I've had 3 forum visitors to view the "Herd" since I started this thread, due to our remote location, in rural Cheezeland.1st did not buy,2nd bought Panikmekanik's 1991 coupe, the silver 2005 Midwest BCA winner.3rd was here to look at the T-Type, and decided to get a Reatta instead, after viewing the "Herd".So, I've sold only 1 Reatta, a show car with BCA silver award.I've sold other cars in the meantime, including the 1991 Firebird convertible, ( yes, a Firebird, not a GTA! -very rare V8 car!). A 1986 Honda Prelude, a 1986 LeBaron convertible, a 1989 Land Rover, and a 1981 Feather-bird 3.8 V6. With NO complaints from any buyers, all were sold locally, and all are still on the road. I occasionally see one on the road, and the new owners wave feverishly, or stop me to rave about the car I sold to them.
manikmekanik
Posting this one more time, (and to bump it to the top), before the '90 red/tan/tan goes to auction. This car will be sold in 10 days, (more or less), with others to follow, on eBay. manikmekanik
The red/tan/tan 1990 Reatta convertible is now listed on eBay.Buy-it-now price reflects CPI value for this award-winning Reatta - $15,500THE RESERVE PRICE IS MANY THOUSANDS LOWER THAN THE BUY-IT-NOW PRICE!!If you're sitting on the fence, waiting for the right deal on a Reatta convertible, it's time to jump in, before it goes away! This Reatta, and some of my other collectables, will be sold by January 1, 2007!Bring it home for Christmas!!No more waiting around, I've been instructed to "Cull the Herd" with a shotgun, rather than a snare! padgett
You realize that part of the problem is that it is December - red convertables sell best in May or June.
George Madsen
Pagett has a point but smart buyers buy snow blowers in July and straw hats (and convertibles) in December. If this car is as good as; or better than,it was at the BCA Regional in Lincolnshire a year ago it's a steal. Hard to believe that someone hasn't snapped it up already. Maybe E-bay is not the best place to sell a car of this quailty. Good luck with your sale.
DeeBee
There is a Red/Tan drop top with a bid of over 18 grand and another for over 13,000 on Ebay so that does seem like the place to sell converts. Those are actual bids not asking prices.
manikmekanik
Thanx 4 the kind words, Y'all!Yeah, I know 'bout winter sales, not my choice on "time to SELL it".Last year, I got 5 other ragtops, at auction, in the snow, for total of $1575.NONE of them were Reattae, but K-cars(3) and Mustangs(2), they're gone as of long ago.The other Reatta, getting big money has lo miles, and the big-big money one is a lo-miles 1991, as steal at it's price as well.Tomorrow is the last day, hopefully it'll break thru it's unbelieveably LOW reserve, and get bid into the stratosphere. Even at it's buy-it-now price, it's a fantastic deal, for an award-winner.I'll check back in with a positive outlook, and maybe positive results! manikmekanik
The 1990 Red/Tan/Tan drop top has been SOLD!It's new home is in Iowa. Now, back to the shop, to turn out a masterpiece, or two!I still own all the 88-89 coupes, Notamekanik is driving "Bambi-Killer" as her daily car in Mad-town, WI in her final semester at UW.I have some engine work to do to the "BlakTop Trikster" since the interior was finished, and she spit an intake gasket. Have'nt decided whether to just repair the gasket, or start looking for a SUPERCHARGER for it. the difference would be about $300, and another 8hrs. work, but the payoff is a "GN-EATER".I'll decide once the intake is off and ready for replacement, but I'm leaning toward S/C setup. manikmekanik
"BLACK BEAUTY" IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE!She is the ONLY registered black/black/flame red 1991 Reatta Convertible left on the road, her big sister is in GM's Heritage collection, as the last Reatta convertible built. She is also the 1st, and so far, only Reatta, of any kind, posted inside Jay Leno's Garage website, under community. See 'fer 'yersef!!!Make me an offer, before someone else offers six figures for this one-of-a-kind.The only line of released production convertibles with fewer released was the 1959 ElDorado Brougham Convertible. This IS the most rare line of such cars built in over 41 years. And of them, this is possibly the most rare, with only 7 produced in black/flame, of total of <200 cars released in 1991, not a special order car, like Sinatra's, but a true production vehicle.Awarded BCA Gold in 2005 Midwest Regional, and BCA 2006 National Silver award.I just broke her out of storage yeaterday, for a romantic trip to Adrian's Custard stand, in Burlington, WI. on our 1st 80-degree day this year. She drove like a dream, and turned heads the whole way!
Mr Buick
How much would a fellow Wisconsite have to pay for the Black and flame Reatta??JohnJSimonson@TDS.net
manikmekanik
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> How much would a fellow Wisconsite have to pay for the Black and flame Reatta?? </div></div> Not a penny more than 'yer average Wisconsonian would pay for a ONE-OF-A-KIND car!Let's see, I can't ask for an arm, or a leg, because that would hamper the buyer's driving enjoyment, or cause retro-fitting for the incurred hadicap. But, they may feel as if they'd given up a first-born son, AND a left gonad, by the time they reach my reserve price! I know that's how I felt, when I forked-over more than the cost of many NEW cars, to acquire it for my own self-serving motive. Panikmekanik thought I was nuts! "You already have 6 Reattae, why do you need another?"To answer your initial question properly, GSJohn, I'm looking forward to offers which reflect this EXTREMELY RARE AND UNIQUE vehicle's stature in the world of collector cars. Last year, I had considered full retail price, shown on it's window sticker-as new, as a reserve price. When there WAS another, still on the road. "Black Beauty" is now the LAST of 7 siblings registered and on the road, who's big sister resides in GM's Heritage collection. So, figure on DOUBLE ORIGINAL RETAIL as a fair reserve, or bid starting point, for serious collectors to whom this car holds greater status than the pile of money taking up space in thier garage.I consider myself BLESSED to have had the priviledge to call this fine example of automotive artistry - a true American Exotic. I still get "Shivers down 'me timbers" to know no-one else in the world gets to drive one like this! And, of course, ther'll be perks included! I'll sacrifice other OEM-specfic items related to this car, to a buyer, meeting/beating my reserve. Here's a short list:Original Craft Centre UAW coveralls, worn while building THIS car.The ORIGINAL plaque, produced for her big sister's celebration "Last Reatta Convertible built", with the typo which caused a second plaque to be coined for the event. An original Flame red vented Reatta baseball cap, also from the Craft Centre employee's collection. And a black full-coverage cap, from the BCA/Reatta club. The 2 BCA trophies awarded this car, 2005 Midwest Gold, and 2006 National Silver, And a BCA-Cream City chapter (local people's choice judged) 3rd place, (Only Reatta awarded in a class designed for GN's and T-Types).A gray Reatta windbreaker, given only to Craft Centre employees.A #2 condition 1991 FSM.I will soon compose a new FS post for tis car alone, using the standard Reatta for sale form, with more detail.
