Bob Kinker
I came across this picture today, and thought I would share it with you. It is from a Christmas parade a few years ago, and I really decked out my T. A couple of the kids watching even came up & said they enjoyed all the old cars, but mine was the most "festive". I really got a kick out of that.
D Binger
Bob,I have pictures from last years Christmas Parade. This is our 1910 Overland. Howard and Judy Scotland rode with us. Guest
Ken ~ Some years we DO have snow for the Christmas parade. On one of those occasions I had the top down on my car and when we got home there was an inch or two of snow in the car. hvs
Shop Rat
Several years ago in Bramwell, W. Va. they did a gaslight parade through the town one night. It is a town that had the highest number of millionaires per capata in the country all in one town. There are still homes there from that era that will take your breath they are so beautiful. One even has a ballroom on the top floor. It was the prettiest parade of old cars I have ever seen with the soft glow of the lamps on all the cars and that town and those houses as the backdrop. Chris Bamford
Picture is early one December Sunday when Junior and I were heading off in the '12 KisselKar to deliver presents to poor kids for Santa's Anonymous . 'Twas a nippy ride at -20C with wind chill. The gas lamps are fed by a 1913 tank on the right running board, the spotlamp has a 12vt halogen snowmobile bulb (high beam is both filaments in parallel, very effective), side and tailights are 6vt originals. Shop Rat
See, Santa doesn't always drive a sleigh. I am on the board of directors here of an organization that serves 2,600 kids at Christmas called Secret Santa Foundation, Inc. We match sponsors to kids and each child gets three toys of their choosing up to $25 per toy. We work year-round.Your cars is awesome. Thanks for caring about kids. R W Burgess
Dan, those Kerosene lamps must have been for "decoration" too considering the amount of light they were giving off. Nice car. It's now on my screen saver! Wayne
Snappydwp1
Oh God, don't let my wife see this. I already put forth to much effort decorating the out side of the house with everything she can buy from Wal-Mart that will light up. I don't need to spend a whole day decorating the Model T too. Shop Rat
That is sad. So many of them are cute, works of art or unique. I really got into cars after I married Bill. He is 60 and worked on cars with his dad from the time he was nine. I help him when he needs it. Hence the nickname "Shop Rat" (it comes from a t-shirt that I got at Hershey years ago.) I don't know how to work on them myself but I can help if he needs it. And I have always been at the track when he races. I have not missed a race in nine season. We heard for a long time, "Boy, I wish my wife would come to the track." Guess they went home and said that "Bill's wife comes to the track" and now there are more wives showing up. I am still the only one helping with the car, but at least now they are there.

R W Burgess
Come on Pat, you have a great wife. As much as you travel and she's home each time you get back!? You're blessed. BTW, I can't get any e-mail to go to your mailbox. Have you changed your address?? Wayne
Shop Rat
So very sorry. Along with the racing it is a hobby that we both love. He hunts, I don't. I horseback ride, he doesn't. But if I need help with my horses he will jump right in and help me.
ex98thdrill
No Wayne. My computer has been screwed up for quite some time, and now I'm trying to get my e-mail account back open. The mailbox got full while my computer was down, and roadrunner locked up the account. I've got someone coming to the house on Monday to hopefully correct the problem. You're right about the wife, she is home when I'm not, but when it comes to vehicles, she could care less. The only time she ever wants anything to do with a vehicle is when the key turns and the car won't move.
R W Burgess
That's ok Pat, but you've missed a lot of jokes. I go through them, forward the ones worthy, and before I can send them out, I get 6 more from my buddy in New York. And, they say retired people have no time to do anything. Wayne
stock_steve
Sorry--discovered this thread late--sorry to "digress"...Our town (Branford, CT) does an annual "Holiday Festival Parade" on the Saturday evening after Thanksgiving, and invites antique autos to participate, and also encourages decorating of the cars with festive holiday themes--very much along the lines of some of the folks who's posted pictures of holiday-decorated cars here. The parade steps off around 5:30pm or so, so it's already pretty dark by the time it gets rolling, and therefore not optimum picture taking (unfortunately, and so I have no shots to share here). It culminates at the town green where Santa & Mrs. Claus "throw the switch" and light the town Christmas tree (the antique cars get a nice spot to park, right along the roadway in front of town hall). Have to see if I can get any decent pictures this year, but based on past experience, I'm not holding my breath... It's a heck of a lot of fun, though--really a great show of town holiday spirit! It's this coming Saturday, the 27th, if you're interested... But Branford also has a couple of other annual occasions for antique auto parade participation, namely the Memorial Day and Veterans' Day Parades, and I just uploaded last week a couple of "action shots" from last Sunday's Veterans' Day parade to the Photo Post area (http://www.aaca.org/photopost/), and they just got approved a day or so ago, so you can go and view them. One shows a magnificent 1953 fire truck, and another a 1934 Ford. It is always gratifying to see the nice show of town spirit to honor our country's brave military veterans, both living and deceased.
