  1. Hi Eric, we always appreciate you coming to our swap meet in Bakersfield, Calif. and bringing your products to sell. We hope to see you next April. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

  3. There was this old used car/wreaking yard called Glen's used cars in Selma, Calif. just south of Fresno off HWY 99. The guys and I would all stop by there on our annual trip up to the Turlock swap meet. The place had all of these 50's and early 60's cars on the front lot like it was 1963. It looked like someone had just walked away from the place one day and left the cars just setting there. Most of the cars had wide white walls that were bleached out from the sun over the last 30 years. The cars were in varied stages of decay and neglect. Not to mention what was in the wrecking yard, among other cars there were two 40 Ford coupes that were original and another 40 Ford coupe that was an old lead sled custom from the 50s. I mean it was unreal. Throught the office window we could see on the desk a brand new telephone book and one time when we were there we actually heard the telephone ring. But in the 6 years that we had visited the place we never saw anybody on the property. Then the last time we were there looking around, a car pulled up and out popped Glen. The guy just wanted us out of there. We asked him about the cars, are any for sale. He said he wanted to sell the whole yard with the cars and would not sell any individual cars or parts. A couple of years later we heard that he had died and his family had a big sale and sold some of the cars and crushed the rest. And now it's just a big empty field.<img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
  4. Absolutely stunning pictures Barry.
  5. That is really great. So neat to have those cars stay in the family like that and be appreciated by the younger set.
  6. I've also had very good luck with my 6Volt Optima in my 36 Ford.
  7. I think what you have there is a trunk lid to a 1935-36 Ford, like mine.
  8. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I have about 1/2 the video and it has taken over 12 hours so far. </div></div> I gave up last night and shut the computer down. I downloaded only 10 sec. of the video and that took 2 1/2 hours.
  9. The video on that web site looks interesting but man does it take a long time to down load. I have the first 6 or 7 seconds of the video but it has taken an hour and a half to get that. I may just leave the computer on tonight to down load the rest while I sleep.
  10. <span style="font-weight: bold">WOW</span> More pictures please.
  11. I found this picture of me in my first ride. I must have been about 4 years old at the time this picture was taken. So it must be some where between 1958 and 1959? Does anybody else have pictures of yourself in your pedal cars when you were kids.
  12. Found this great WWII poster. ^^^^^
  13. Oh man that is so great. Good for you to get his intrest up to do something like that.
  14. Very good MrEarl. Is this your wife or your daughter? The yellow outfit goes nice with the yellow Buick. And what's the yellow drink?
  15. Well I just noticed that I made it to 100 posts, it took me over a year on this particular forum but I guess there's more interesting reading here than what I have to say.
  16. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">This is a photo taken in 1964, my first new car with my wife, then girlfriend posing.........it is very easy using Photobuckets like Lamar suggested!! </div></div> That's a great picture Skyking. It reminds me of this shot with mom and me setting on the hood of the Rambler station wagon and little brother standing in the forground.

Great photo. </div></div> Yeah Shop Rat, that place was in San LuisObispo Calif. in the mid 1980's I don't know if it's still there.
  18. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Your instructions helped. All I had to do was add the brackets and the img and /img at the beginning and end and put JPG behind the . and it worked!!! Thanks. Now people can see the photo of the Minerva that a friend of ours restored. </div></div> Allright!!!
  19. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Now why didn't it come up as a picture? </div></div> Idle Swede, you need to put the "img' at the first of your URL address and then "/img" at the end. Like below, but leave out the dollar signs and put the brackets [ ] around the img and the /img. [$img]http://forums.aaca.org/misc/319049-19OLDS.JPG[$/img]
  20. You might check with these folks also. http://www.driveamodelt.com/ This is their video. http://www.driveamodelt.com/driveit.html
  21. Last year one of the kids on our Saturn car website forum suggested that for hosting pictures I check with my Cox Cable internet server company and see if they are providing me with a picture page of my own. And sure enough they were, took a little time to learn how to use it but it's great. I can even upload videos on it too. Here's a shot of me with my 57 Ford in Death Valley, Calif. in the 1980's.
  22. The pictures of the new Met. in the "Photo Gallery" look great Skyking.
