I bought my next toy!...........or part of it!

I've had a great experience this last year attending some major meets, especially Hershey, and admiring and, should I say lusting, after some of the really nice Classics that have been displayed. I have in front of me a picture taken in Florida of a pristine '32 Nash 4 door cabriolet? that I'd love to own. And then last week I'm going through the for-sale cars on the Classic Car site when I spot something reasonable, a '29 Stutz Blackhawk 4dr sedan with dual sidemounts, wirewheels all for $26,500 recently reduced to $24,500. Don sent me some pictures. What do you think? Wayne

Gee Doug, You think I'd cut up something that pretty? I've got one more picture to post if I can downsize it. We just had a big thunder/tornado blow through here with golfball size hail, so I'm a little behind. I'm in luck! A friend just called. Check the first part of my next car out. Wayne

Post Script; The attached picture is for a 327 with the original style rochesters. GM casting no. on manifold is 3749948, I think. Those 9's and 8's look alot alike. You know, the wife didn't say a thing about me buying this! Is this reverse psychology, guys? W.

Earl, I'm sure W.A. would have called you if there was a problem. Be thankful all your cars are garaged. Also Nearchoc... is right. A friend just called and said the manifold fits a '58-'60 348 Chevy. Not what I need. No money has changed hands so I'm OK. This post has generated a lot of e-mail help to my next purchase from my friends. I haven't made a decision yet. The owner of the Stutz does seriously want to sell his car. More info is available under the buy/sell side of classic cars. He has been very open with me, so let him know if you're interested. Wayne

Mr. Beauchamp,

I tried to send several emails to you last week using any email addresses I have for you but they kept coming back. Seeing your reply here, I just now attempted to send an email using the address on your profile here (which I also used before) but it immediately came back as undeliverable. Attempts were made on two different servers so I don't think the problem is on my end.

Has your address changed? Do drop a line sometime.

Wayne,

Nice looking vehicle. You'd sure look good driving it down the road.

Was down in Asheboro NC today at Bingham's junkyard and there were two 4bbl 348s setting in the shop floor- one stick with bellhousing attached, other I'm not sure.

Mr. Jim has some neat stuff in that yard if you're ever nearby, all separated by make and not overgrown too badly. We were looking for 60s Olds/Pontiac and found a couple goodies. On NC 49, about 15 miles south of Asheboro. You'll get to Richard's first, but I don't think that yard's even worth stopping in any more- all he has is gold-plated rust. The gates were locked this morning at 11:30, so he may not even be open anymore. He's threatened to sell out and close half a dozen times.
