palbuick
Just got the first reproduction rear gravel shield for the 1940 Buick 40 & 60 series. This is the shield between the rear bumper and body, which most 40 Buicks are missing or badly rusted. When shown to an old 1940 Buick collector he thought they were NOS. The shields are a bit heavier metal then the originals.I plan to have the 1939 ,2 piece shields, and the 1940 shields at Flint, for sale. Both are excellent reproductionsThe 39 shields are priced at $ 185.00 and the 40 shields at $ 300.00Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
Matt Harwood
Jim, anything for the '41s? I just realized that my front splash pan has been hacked by a hack.I'll make a point of seeing you at Flint...
palbuick
Sorry Nothing for the 41s.Nothing on the grill at this time, The Co. making the 39 & 40 pans are quite busy and no play time. Trying to talk owners into doing the 1940 50/70 series pans, as I have a NOS one, for dimensions.JIm Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
kgreen
This is an old post but offers some clarification to the question that the 70 series Buick did have a rear gravel guard. Was the original a two piece or single piece? Was there a guard at the front bumper? Lastly, were there any pans or shields in the engine compartment located between the frame and the engine?
Dynaflash8
Some early '41s had a second rear panel that hung vertically and was notched around the tailpipe. It hung forward of the rear gravel deflector. My gray '41 Limited had this panel. My '41 Roadmaster 71-C did not. Just an interesting point.

kgreen
After I posted the question on the revived post, I read a late 60's Bugle article that stated the 41's had both front and rear gravel deflectors. Mr. Earl, do I gather that palbuick is no longer with us?
