Mark Tupper
Greetings - last year I received as a gift the bill of sale when my grandfather bought a 1950 Studebaker in Sioux Falls, SD. I'm curious the exact model it was and have the following info from the paperwork: 1950 Studebaker Model - 9G Custom Engine No.: 706767 Serial No. G-625087 Body style - Tudor

7th Son
Can someone please translate this list of numbers so that us non-Studebaker folks might be enlightened and educated. Thank you.
Fargoguy
Sorry, I should have clarified- he indicated it is a 9g model- 1950 Champion. He also says it is a custom, lower trim level and what he calls a tudor. I assume then it is a 9G- F1 Champion two-door sedan, however the starlight coupe was also a two door, but it had the wrap-around rear glass. If it is one of those it is a 9G- C1 Champion Starlight coupe.

8E45E
The Custom trim was a mid-year model to match the price of the Chevrolet 150 and base Ford. An easy way to tell a Custom are the headlight and taillight bezels painted body color, and no chrome trim on the passenger's side of the dash. Mark Tupper
These are awesome responses! I'm going to ask my Mom if she has any old pictures I can comb through and maybe see him in front of it. Framed the bill of sale but would love to add a pic of the car with it.

Frank DuVal
You might find the original order form at Studebaker. What? The South Bend plant closed in 1963 or so. I mean the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend IN. If it still exists is a harder question, involving 50 states DMVs, or possibly post the engine and serial numbers on https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/ 🦃🕎🍲☃️🍠🐖🎄🎄❄️

And as stated above, you can go all the way and purchase a copy of the original Production Order from the Studebaker National Museum as you have the serial number.
