Fossil
For it's time it looks to have some heft tires on those wood spoked wheels.

Good observation, Fossil. In the earlier days of the hobby, the 1950's and 1960's I think, replacement tire sizes were unavailable, and collectors used truck tires. Maybe that's the case here: that the tires are very old. If that's the case, the wood-spoke wheels may be too small for the car. What do others think? Reynard
These "new" Cadillacs are displaying 1926 license plates. The front bumpers are different than the subject car. Are the new cars a different series or are they the new 1927 models? How about this one, '26 or '27? They called them Balloon tires. they were a bit exaggerated when they were first marketed.
28StutzCabriolet
Hey Renard, The cars in the original photos are 1927s. Note the cowl lights and lack of boxes in the front fenders. I have a soft spot for these cars. I would probably never own another - mine was a 314B sport brougham that now lives in Australia. Surprisingly few of the 314s have survived compared to the number made. The Fisher bodies did not hold up. Having said that, this looks like a great car with much good to say about it. IF the engine is shot, expect to have about $12K in it in machine work, parts and babbit bearings. That assumes you do all the cleaning, painting and disassembly and assembly yourself.
