Dave Wells
Hagerty values this car (in #3 condition) at $25,300, which reflects a recent, serious demand and sales price drop. With the amount of work required to correct the listed deficiencies, $20 to $25k is a much more reasonable asking price for this example, provided a closer inspection finds no other serious problems. Additionally, the interior has been redone deleting the large square sewn design on the seat vinyl that is present on the door panels.

I have not seen one of these for sale in years, so I’m wondering how Hagerty noticed the demand dropped?
kingrudy
Beautiful car, the color really sets this car off in my opinion. I am not an authority on Edsels, but I would think that the low production number, fact that it is a convertible and the color would help the sale of this car. Not a big fan of continental kits, but that can be fixed.
deac
This is a beautiful looking Edsel. Edsel Ford was a good man and very different from his father I read about him and found out a lot of the good traits he had. Henry made sure to take the credit for all the good things Edsel did for the company. Anyway, this car may be rare however rare does not mean a high priced collectible. In most cases a rare car = hard to find and expensive parts. Edited July 8, 2023 by deac (see edit history)
m-mman
He won’t say it, but he broke the top linkage because he forced it. That’s how they always break, usually someone who thinks that they can “Just push the top down” you can’t unless you disconnect the hydraulic system. People don’t-things break. He now has an expensive repair (yeah, you find that part) and a convertible that can’t convert. Sorry guy, huge price difference

Pay their price or keep looking.
