For Sale: 1965 Chrysler 300L Convertible - $25,000 - Yelm, WA
1965 Chrysler 300L Convertible - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org)
Seller's Description:

This beautiful car was my husband's and as much as I would like to keep her, she needs a good home. Some things have been done and I have all new upholstery, but it hasn't been installed.  No rust and she starts-up great. I am not certain of the odometer, but I believe the number is accurate. I am willing to consider reasonable offers. No trades, no payments, and no holds.  He passed and I only want to make sure this car gets the home it deserves.

I have no personal interest or stake in the eventual sale of this 1965 Chrysler 300L Convertible.

The Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1946-1975, Edited by John Gunnell states 440 1965 Chrysler 300L Convertibles built.

Frankly I prefer the 2 door hardtop 300L over the convertible.  This was a love it or hate it style anyway, and that convertible top looks horrible to me.  Sure, everyone wants a convertible if they have a choice but there is a reason many sport luxury cars in the 60's were not offered as convertibles - Riviera, Eldorado, Toronado, etc.

it was because the target audience was well over convertibles by that time.
people with the money to buy a car in those price classes would have air conditioning.
convertible buyers were looking at pony cars.

The 1965 model year for the last hurrah for the convertible body style with the highest number sold by the overall industry.  Crowded urban highways, air pollution, fear of crime, higher maintenance cost offset by the comfort and security afforded by air conditioning conspired to undermine the appeal of the convertible.

IMO convertibles are a Midwest and East coast thing. I grew up in Southern California and there was never a shortage of sunshine. I00 degree heat in the summer made you appreciate AC. So I have never sought a convertible. I moved to Michigan for family reasons in my 50s for 12 years and the long winters made me appreciate summers (still did not seek convertibles, but realized why people celebrated summer).
