Pete Phillips
Anybody need a 1926 Buick Standard radiator? It has many small leaks and will probably need to be re-cored, but these things don't grow on trees. $100 plus shipping from Texas. Thought it was a 1928, but I have been corrected=1926. Oregon Desert model 45
Pete that is probably a 1926 Standard. 1928 Standard and Master would have a thermostat in the coolant inlet and crank hole in the lower tank
Pete Phillips
Well, that makes sense because that's what it was labelled as when I bought it. Then I sent photos of it to long-time 1927-1928 Buick expert Tony Bult, and he told me it was a 1928, so I changed the description, assuming he knew what he was talking about. Now I"ll change it back.
Hubert_25-25
Pete, Change the title of this posting to 1926-1927 Buick Standard Radiator A few comments on this. - The shroud around the radiator will work for 1925 to 1927 Buick Standard. - This will fit a Buick Standard and not a Buick Master - This will fit 1926 or 1927. Buick Standard. 1927 got the thermostat, but a 1926 radiator will still function in a 1927 car. - This could fit a 1925 Buick Standard, if a person found a 1926 or 1927 radiator shell. In 1926, Buick increased the top fill nozzle to hold the same radiator cap as used on the larger 6 cylinder. So as an assembly (shell and radiator) from a later car can be used on the earlier model. dibarlaw
Pete: I will alert Jeff Jones from South Carolina. He bought a somewhat cobbled 1927 Standard Roadster with an equally cobbled radiator. He will need at least better tanks and a 1926 unit (Harrison # 222) will work for him. He was just up to PA to pick up the spare 1925 standard engine we brought from Kentucky. He recently bought a 1925 26S sport coupe that has the engine totally destroyed. He showd me photos of some of the pistons with the tops totally gone above the ring grooves! New pistons from ROSS were bought by the former owner but the pin holes are about 5/8" off from original, also many components of the engine were missing as they tore everything down. He needed a complete engine to have a starting point.
