Bradf0rd
Hello, awhile back I posted some images of a 1950 Chevy that my grandfather used to own. After recovering the vehicle I found the identification plate for the car but want to make sure I came to the correct conclusion for the name of the car. There was also a weird looking "S" badge with lions on the front fenders of the car. Below are pictures of the vehicle, including the ID plate. The door jam plate reads "3HJ-G 30434" From my Googling, I came to the answer that it is a sub-series of the Fleetline. I've been calling it a 1950 Chevy Fleetline Special - Series 1500 but I could be very wrong so any information would be great. The website I used to get the info was "theclassicchevrolet.com." Thanks in advance and any additional advice on it is absolutely welcome! TerryB
Perhaps your grandfather was fond of Seagram’s whiskey 3
rocketraider
Or may have been a Seagram's company car or salesman's car.
joe_padavano
I'm thinking that the slotted screw head through the middle of the emblem isn't exactly indicative of a professional installation...
Bradf0rd
Thanks for the help guys! I would agree that the craftsmanship of the badge was very poor quality and the screw going straight through the middle, the other side was much nicer. It actually makes a bit more sense with the logo as the person who originally purchased the car owned a liquor store. I would agree and say it looks like/was an aftermarket install.
Bloo
If you plan to restore, the guys over on the VCCA forums will know all the finer points and details about how it was built originally. https://vccachat.org
jacosta1935
what did you end doing with it, I could use the front bumper wrap around guards if you'd part with them.
