NailheadBob
Pete, how much damage was done to the ring gear teeth? Did the transmission shop remove the ring gear and flip it over while it was apart, so all good teeth will mesh properly with repaired/replacement starter? Could you please post a photo of ring gear damage. Bob

60FlatTop
I have just the thing in my cellar if you need one. But not the whole core. I could never part with my Dynaflow core. When used to anchor a couple sets of resistance bands it gives a whole new meaning to a "core" workout.

PHotos will probably not show the scratches and dings.

60FlatTop
I was looking back to see if there were any progress notes on this job. There is a lot to be learned from these cars with a long life of limited driving.
Pete Phillips
Starter is still at the rebuild shop being rebuilt, but I think we will go with a different starter, since that one gave so much trouble. Cylinder heads were magna-fluxed and are okay with just a valve job done. Engine is slowly going back together. While the engine is out of the car, we are cleaning and detailing the engine compartment. Pete 6
Pete Phillips
Lots of progress today: Engine back in the car (nothing hooked up yet).
