Rusty_OToole
If you are new to these Chrysler built flathead sixes there were basically two models. A small block for Plymouth and Dodge and a larger block for DeSoto and Chrysler. Yours is the typical DeSoto Chrysler motor. In Canada they only made the larger block and juggled the bore and stroke to make motors suitable for Plymouth and Dodge. Dodge truck used the same motor as your car in certain models like Power Wagon. Think of the ambulances on MASH. For this reason a company called Vintage Power Wagons is a good source for motor parts, if yours ever needs to be rebuilt.
Rusty_OToole
I should mention a couple of points that cross up a lot of guys new to these cars. They have six volt, POSITIVE ground electrical systems meaning the battery goes in back wards, and they have left hand thread wheel bolts on the left side.
