Could you explain what they are or do you have a photo of one to post?

Hi thanks for getting back to me  it is round metal bit that holds the valve spring when the valve is placed in the block so i havent got a photo to show you  like on most cars or you could call it a collet

These are common to most mopar engines of the day, not specific to a '31 Desoto.
