Crusty Trucker
1936 Hayes Camp Trailer $5,500, Spokane, WA https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/707381867067208/?ref=category_feed&referral_code=undefined&referral_story_type=listing&tracking={"qid"%3A"-6628705186666749359"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"7174735609268006"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A7174735609268006%2C\"target_type\"%3A0%2C\"primary_position\"%3A21%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A7276212385164034048%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A504%2C\"value\"%3A0.00015459349179512}"} RARE, PRE-WAR, SHOVEL NOSE, HAYES CAMP TRAILER. IT MEASURES ABOUT 16" FROM THE HITCH TO THE BACK BUMPER. IT NEEDS A COMPLETE RESTORATION, OR BUILD IT AS YOU WANT. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH ON THE HAYES BRAND OF TRAILERS, AS THEY WERE KNOWN FOR THEIR ALL STEEL CONSTRUCTION OF THEIR FRAMES. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL DOOR AND BI-FOLD SCREEN DOOR, LIGHT FIXTURES, AND NEWLY POWDER COATED WHEELS, AND NEW 600 X 16" TIRES.THE FLOOR IS MOSTLY GONE. IT COMES WITH A BILL OF SALE ONLY, HAS NO TITLE. A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. A VERY RARE TRAILER TO OWN. note: price seems a little optimistic to me. 🤑

wayne sheldon
Some of those camping collector people are very dedicated! You wouldn't believe some of the prices really rough stuff might sell for. Most of what is gone in this thing is woodwork and other materials that likely would need to be replaced on a nice restoration. And if you have ever been to one of their shows? Pebble Beach ain't got nuthin' on what these folks will do with a 1940s or '50s camping trailer! A real one from the 1930s? I can only guess. Then again? All collectables are funny stuff, what is hot and what is not? As with all collectables, you better know what you are looking at. And personally, that isn't the era I am really interested in.
