Buick35
I told my son in law that I installed a third brake light on my 35 Buick and he said"oh,a lizzy light". I asked him why he called it that and he said because Elizabeth Dole pushed to make them standard equipment.I never knew that.Maybe her and Ralph Nader hung out together.
wayne sheldon
And I thought a "Lizzy" light was one you needed to light with match! At least that is what my 1915 tin Lizzy (Lizzie?) has. I keep saying it! Ain't linguistics fun?
Fossil
I mounted one on June Bug like they use on a Jeep Wrangler. Sets on top of the spare tire. Also put a second tail light on the other fender. I think your Lizzy light is a good idea.
Paul Dobbin
I put one on both my 35 Buick and my current 34 Ford to save my neck. People won't look down for our fender mounted tail lights. Worse than that i put one on my 82 El Camino that has its tail lights in the rear bumper. My "Lizzy light" of choice is wide low style from mid 80's suburbans, mounted on the body below the rear window or on the roof.
Mark Gregush
Even back in the Model A era, there was a stop light that you put in the rear window. So the 3rd (2ed in this case) light up high was not a new idea. The one I saw, both in an ad and the one a friend has, used a neon bulb.
