jeff_a
It was a new era. People had survived the Great War, the great flu epidemic, women were bobbing their hair instead of wearing it long and weren't required to wear Old Mother Hubbard dresses. Booze was banned, Jazz and Speakeasies were common, it was the Roaring Twenties. Car is from the two-year Cadillac Lookalike Phase of Peerless, 1923-1924, when some guys from Cadillac bought Peerless, changed the rad shells to match Cadillac's, and even introduced a new engine. This is a Model 66 with an 80 HP V-Type Eight. In 1917, a Charles Burman bought the Peerless franchise from H.O. Harrison in San Francisco, and may have been the dealer promoting this Peerless. Charles Burman worked for Peerless 1900-1912 and did quite a lot of racing...shown here at a track: Edited October 25, 2021 by jeff_a (see edit history)

mike6024
My mom was born in San Francisco in 1919, that's why I sometimes look at this forum that posts vintage pictures. Many of them happen to feature cars so I just copy 'em over here.
hwellens
At least they took their shoes off so they would not scratch the paint or bumper.
