Maybe those cars bring more money in Europe;

but there was a virtually identical one for sale 

locally here in Pennsylvania:  Same year, same

model, even the same color.  It was beautiful, and

the seller began by asking $90,000.  I later heard

he was down to $60,000, about 3 years ago.

No, I think they now and then are sold in that price range (and over) in the US as well. All depending on the condition and I guess the demand might vary some over the years. The following link lists six 1938 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible Coupes sold by Sotheby's in the last 15 years.
