mikewest
One would have to be real brave or braindead to ride in car at 80mph. 3 1

Guest
I saw that too. Looked but ad didn't have the "See More Listings by This User" link. So either not currently for sale or they share storage. Edited June 16, 2021 by GregLaR (see edit history)
Fossil
If this has the original 3 spd. with that high geared differential it would seem that really slipping the clutch to get moving is going to be the norm. The rest of the car looks very nice. Edited June 16, 2021 by Fossil (see edit history)
suchan
If you want to drive it on the freeway in LA, it better be able to do 80. Nice car, but agree the Mazda rear end is overkill. Starting on a hill would be a bear.
Guest
I'm not familiar with the Mazda rearend. Surely they don't mean a Japanese Mazda?

deac
I would like to see what else is in that warehouse. I think that yellow car is a late 30's coupe. Me like!! Edited June 16, 2021 by deac (see edit history)

I was hoping there may have been another American use for the name that I was unaware of, similar to the Mazda bulbs of that generation. If this car really does have a rearend out of a Mazda, I just..... ugh! Why?

I'm guessing the it was the right width and it was available. Spring perches might have been the right width. Ford was involved with Mazda and the lug bolt pattern could have matched the Chryslers. I used Ford rims on my 36' Dodge. It would be fun to get that car up on a lift and see what's been done under it. Man that's an obnoxious paint job.

Grimy
Perhaps a Mazda pickup rear end which would be about 3.45 if newer than about 1990.
