Oldmanofthenorth
I have been reading posts on swapping the 248 for the 263 and I am wondering if the anyone has experience putting a Dynaflow into a '37 Special? Also is the crank on the engine with a Dynaflow adaptable to the '37 flywheel? Any other problems other than motor mount switch, manifold switch etc. that might cause problems. I am assuming from what I have already read the dimensions of the 263 will be the same as the 248. Thanks for any help.
Pete Phillips
My old friend Evan Ritter of Trenton, Texas has done exactly that with his '37 Special. He is in his 80s, very knowledgeable, but I don't think he has a computer or internet, so I'm not sure how to put you together with him. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, TX. Ben Bruce aka First Born
Evans car has a Hydramatic kind of transmission, I think. He has changed it a time or two. He is on line sometimes as "coilover". Ben
Jack Worstell
Jenz38 ( I believe he is in Germany ) reported that he put a 263 from a Dynaflow car in his 1938 Buick....but he had to fabricate a new flywheel. Being in Germany he had limited choice and couldn't find a 263 from a manual transmission car Somewhere he published drawings/dimensions of the flywheel he fabricated Jack Worstell

He did. And an open driveshaft rear end. I think the OP was asking about using a Dynaflow, which SHOULD allow the torque tube to remain.
