lancemb
Saw this, and it is so near me and looks like such a great original car, I am very tempted to take a ride out to see it. Lord, help me. Having seen a bunch of 61s and 62s lately, they are growing on me. Of course, there is the lack of parts availability that Smartin mentioned, but that's part of the "FUN", right?

deac
That is a good deal by looking at the pictures. Edited January 20, 2021 by deac (see edit history)
lancemb
As of this afternoon, the car is available still; buyer backed out. I spoke to the seller. He says the car was a family member's for about 30 years and he is selling for the estate. He said it runs great, has a few places where rust is starting due to seeing some weather for the past 10 years or so, but not bad. Paint is supposed to be original (big plus IMO). Also has a rough 4 door parts car with no title that could be had with it. I could go see it Saturday if there is serious interest by someone if it's still available.
Smartin
Paint is not original...the clear coat is delaminating, which means its base/clear

Only in-person inspection would answer for sure if something else weird is going on like residue from a cover, but I agree from what can be seen in the pictures. B Jake Moran
I don't see the peel per se you guys see. Old paint fade on flat surfaces yes. You 2 know more than I do. The back seat though is certainly redone.
Smartin
I could be wrong...but usually a milky spot like that indicates delaminated clear coat. Here is a nice example of a black coupe for some inspiration:https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2819792028116800/?ref=category_feed&referral_code=undefined

I see what you're saying Adam but I've also seen similar sun baked original paint like this also. At 109,000 original miles that back seat could very well be original IMO. What about it makes you think otherwise Jake? By the pictures, I'd be trusting the seller on this one, until I saw the car in person and determined otherwise. This is a classic and popular early 60's Buick in my opinion. If absolutely no rust or mechanical problems, worth close to the asking imo. But gotta wonder why the first buyer backed out. @lancemb how can you stand not at least riding and having a look see 🙂
MrEarl
Looks like it even has a Kleenex dispenser. The AC unit while not factory as the sellers claims, it was possibly a dealer installed unit soon after purchase, it looks good none the less... love the trishield original accessory floor mats, What's y'alls thought on the carpet? even comes with a Radio Shack FM converter. I like this car.
deac
I have seen many a car with clear coat peeling and with all do respect I don't see a peeling clear coat. I do see major wear spots that some call patina but it's not peeling. The carpet most likely is not original though it is tasteful. My take is, you reupholster the front seat and do a 'scuff and shoot' paint job and you have a great driver! There are a few spots of rust according to the seller; nothing insurmountable it sounds like though. However, it's enough to wear away my temptation. But, I'm afraid if I did go look at it I'd be tempted again. I could certainly determine if paint was original if I inspected it in person. The colors on the car are fantastic though IMO, which makes it a bit more tempting to me personally than it otherwise would be.
Smartin
Like I said...I could be wrong but it's difficult to tell really what the paint is doing in the photos. It would require a personal inspection. And it would definitely be on my radar if I hadn't just picked up that green 62.
