suchan
Clean original, and I like the colors. Asking price is optimistic, but asking prices for Caddys of this vintage usually are.
DLynskey
"Well preserved survivor, same owner for 63 years" Is the car a well preserved survivor or the owner? Don
auburnseeker
I thought the colors were a bit of a shame, especially for the seller, as there are alot of color combos a Caddy of this vintage would really stand out with, unfortunately tan and brown aren't high on that list. I agree it's a bit optimistic pricing as well, since there is visible rust showing through in a few places.
Aaron65
This car was at a shop in my town a few years ago. I stopped by and asked about it (I love '54 and '55 Coupe DeVilles), and the shop owner said the then current owner wanted about $15,000 for it. That was too much for me. I later saw it on Craigslist for somewhere over $15,000 - I can't remember. I did see it on its way out of town on a trailer...I guess it ended up in Howard City. deac
If you have ever seen one these 50's era Caddy's taken apart for repairs and what's physically and monetarily involved you would probably reconsider your idea about the price. I am talking repairs (springs, shocks & suspension work, complete rewire, upholstery, electric door window, etc.) and upkeep on a 60+ year old car. You could not ever restore one of these for $20 grand.
