arcticbuicks
Hi , I recently bought a 36 chev 3 window coupe that has a rumble seat and continental spare on rear . I’m trying to figure if it is equivalent to a master or standard model ? Its apart but all there with extra parts . thanks

arcticbuicks
Oh that may be a problem , I got it apart and there are two different frames , one with odd front suspension and one with leaf springs.it dose have the cowl tag , it is also made in Canada and I don’t think we had master or standard actually model names in those years here. Bloo
It's not just model names, It''s a whole different car. I do not recall the details. The engine is about the same, but not much else. The wheelbase could be a clue. The funny front suspension is a Master for sure. Masters could be had with a straight axle, but they didn't build many that way. arcticbuicks
I’m wondering if the length of body is somehow different with different running board and body part listings......the body serial number is 19 ? I wonder if it’s car number 19 built lol Edited June 16, 2020 by arcticbuicks (see edit history)
1939_Buick
GM Canada had a different coding system to GM USA, but possible to correlate 1936 standard 109" 1936 master 113" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Master https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Standard_Six From https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/257099/tp/1/cto_session_id/b14a6fa19534d2e2681863cad72ce0cb/ Quote The 1936 Master Deluxe was the only coupe model with a rumble seat in 1936 as far as US production goes. It also was the only 3 window coupe. The Standard and Master business coupes were 5 window. The Standard series has two dials on the instrument panel and the Master has 3. The Standard has 5 stud wheels and the Master 6. There were less than 11,000 rumble seat coupes made and almost 1,000,000 1936 cars produced. The info. I have shows just the Master rumble seat coupe was made in Canada but it was available in the "regular" and Special Master series. There should be a plate on the firewall. The reg. would be a model 1087 and the Special a model 2057.

arcticbuicks
I also got another odd model chev 1928 roadster no rumble seat few years ago (that I actually found when I was 10 years old and took years to buy)and have been trying to swap out better parts that I find here and there on farms , but this car seems to be wider than the say 4 dr bathtub style convertible .i got a real nice complete windshield frame off a 4 dr convertible and it’s a few inches narrower than the roadster needs, also found a better trunk lid and it also seems too tall of a curve to fit. Vila
This is a great forum, but you may want to also ask your questions on the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA) forum in the 1933 - 1936 section. https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/forums/2/1/1933-1936.html
