Soupiov
I am looking for pictures of the trim around the fabric insert and how the material is secured to the wood frame insert. My car has a Briggs body and is one of the early bodies with the rectangular rear window. Thanks.
31plymouth
Are you talking about the roof material?
Soupiov
I'm looking for a picture of the way the insert sits on the sheet metal top, especially the way the trim is fitted. This is what I have and I doubt it is correct.

keiser31
The previous owner did the same thing to my 1931 DB coupe insert. I have to remove and replace it. Edited March 12, 2020 by keiser31 (see edit history)
ply33
I don't know when they started it, maybe around the time they went to an "all steel" body with the 30-U, but I put up a page that shows how the inserts work for the "pressed in" ones. See https://www.ply33.com/Repair/roof The cross section image can be blown up by clicking on it. Or, I guess, I'll just link it here:
31plymouth
This is a picture of my 31 PA sedan. original roof trim. There is supposed to be a rubber insert in the middle. I could never find it and have never filled it.

Soupiov
Thanks for the help. I think I have it figured out now. I can see why it got screwed up the last time the top material was replaced.
