Anyone recognize these items. I am thinking they were used as a nut where it would be difficult to get a wrench.  Maybe for quicker assembly at the factory. I believe there are about 16 with two slightly longer.

Yes Don. I had to make up new ones for my 1925. When I first had the radiator off and got 2 new acorn head bolts from "BOB'S" they just had a 3/8"-24 nut. What a terror to try to put the nut up inside the frame with a variety of universals. Then in the parts book it showed part# 39067 simply called a Radiator bolt nut. I made 2 from 1/4" thick X 1" wide plate. Still a bit of a pain to get to but it was much harder to use a standard size nut.

If these are all 1/4"X20 threaded holes then they would be for the splash shields. (Engine Pan)  My smaller 6 cylinder car uses 10 of these. Part # 170521   I did have to make up a few that were missing.

I am going to have to drive up Route 81 to check on your progress sometime.
