CTCV
Anyone recognize these items. I am thinking they were used as a nut where it would be difficult to get a wrench. Maybe for quicker assembly at the factory. I believe there are about 16 with two slightly longer. Tony
Robert Engle
They are used as a nut inside the frame for brackets (fuel, shock ride control linkage) as well as the front fender and rocker panel. No wrench needed to tighten the screws as they jam against the frame rail. Bob Engle
dibarlaw
Also they are used to secure the splash shields to the underside of the frame rails.

dibarlaw
Yes Don. I had to make up new ones for my 1925. When I first had the radiator off and got 2 new acorn head bolts from "BOB'S" they just had a 3/8"-24 nut. What a terror to try to put the nut up inside the frame with a variety of universals. Then in the parts book it showed part# 39067 simply called a Radiator bolt nut. I made 2 from 1/4" thick X 1" wide plate. Still a bit of a pain to get to but it was much harder to use a standard size nut.
CTCV
OK guys that's what I thought I just needed to be sure. I'll let ya know if I will have extras for anyone that needs them.
dibarlaw
If these are all 1/4"X20 threaded holes then they would be for the splash shields. (Engine Pan) My smaller 6 cylinder car uses 10 of these. Part # 170521 I did have to make up a few that were missing. I am going to have to drive up Route 81 to check on your progress sometime.
