Can anyone identify where the registration plate was issued? It looks like 5842-B with the letters CD above.

I don't think it is in the US.  Auburn owners should take note of the correct way to mount the interior door handles.   What is that on the grill?

Could the plate topper be Civil Defense?

It was established in England in 1935.

Good eye and great comment. At least 60% of the restored Pontiac's I have seen have the interior door handle and/or window crank wrongly installed.

I don't think that is a flag or a headset. Looks like an innocent roadside picnic to me.
