barkingspider
Hi there, Does anyone know what car this is? This photo is my grandmother and my mother in Java, Indonesia. My mother was born in 1934 and looks to be maybe 5, so I am guessing this picture was taken in the late 30s. That's not to say the car isn't older. My grandparents were not of wealth so I am guessing it was not an extravagant car. My family is Dutch, and Indonesia at the time was a Dutch colony, which leads me to believe the car may be European. Let me know if I can provide any other information. Thank you!
oldford
1924 Studebaker... Possibly a Special Six
Bloo
Yeah, it looks like a Studebaker Special Six. I will defer to oldford on the year. As far as I know, among Studebakers, only the Special Six had a grille shape like that.
Spinneyhill
Looks like it might have 1925 fenders on it. They look like solid tires a bit too, but they are probably fairly new pneumatics.
nzcarnerd
It is not a Studebaker. With that round badge it is a Durant Star - circa 1925. A much smaller car that the Stude. From the apparent length of the hood it might be a six cylinder one. They were sold in this part of the world as a Rugby. Something similar in Australia back in the day.

nzcarnerd
I found another one of these Stars amongst this lot. Lots of inexpensive projects there. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-auction-prices-for-those-early.html#comment-form
