DV8
So my high beams stopped working a while back and I'm just getting around to isolating the problem. The headlights work but when I try to switch on the high beams with the floor switch the headlights shut off and the dash indicator doesn't work as well. Can some one direct me to where the headlamp relay is located? Should I try replacing the relay or the main light switch first?
KongaMan
Check the dimmer switch.

DV8
I probably should have mentioned that I already replaced the dimmer switch and the 3 wire harness connecting it.
DV8
Well what do you know... Upon closer inspection of the dimmer switch it appears that when replacing it I accidentally "Missed" one of the blades in the connecting harness and bent it slightly out of the way. Turns out that was the easy fix. Thanks for the help as always, guys!
Barney Eaton
Just a thought.........when there is a post like this............should it be deleted? Or is it nice to be reminded that others screw up also and there is a lessen to be learned. SwedeDownUnderR63
David, you are not alone. I have this policy of always looking in the mirror first to find the root of a problem if something no longer works after I have made a change. That works even for IT... Been there , done that.
dr914
if you put higher wattage headlights in your car it will overheat the high low switch as well. Happened to me when I installed Hella lights with 100 watt high beams
KongaMan
That's another reason to use relays.
