alsfarms
I am beginning a search for a reputable shop that has the ability to make connecting rods to specification. Who can I be referred to? Please share your experience and type of rod that you had built. Al
cahartley
Specify for what......exactly. There is a drop forging company in/around Chicago that does superior work, including forged crankshafts, and isn't a killer on the wallet.
alsfarms
That resource sounds like a good reference. I am looking for replacement rods for a 1914-15 Locomobile 48. Can you share the contact information for this Drop forging company? Al
4Hud
It may not work for your application but one of my car buddies had billet aluminum rods for his 1932 Packard made by R & R Racing Products in Florida. They are a thing of beauty, too bad they are hidden inside the engine. jrbartlett
A lot of Duesenbergs are now running modern Carillo rods. Regarding Locomobile, I have one spare rod for my '19 Model 48.
Dan Griffin
If you are going to drive a Duesenberg you need new rods.
