Hillsidearms
My grandpa in his first car. I would like to know what it is and the year. I want to say he told me it was a Franklin but not sure. He passed away in 1974.

1912Staver
Nice middle-class car, 1912-13. Quite a few possibilities Any other photo's in your family's collection ? There were many makes that look similar in this era. Greg in Canada
Hillsidearms
Picture was taken in Saginaw, Michigan. The years seem about right. I used to have a picture of just the car but my brother lost it.
nzcarnerd
Not many cars used that curved windshield strut.
1912Staver
Odd that only one side is curved. Bent perhaps? Greg
Craig Gillingham
I'm sure this is a Stoddard-Dayton.

Hillsidearms
I just realized that the car was right hand drive. Was that typical of cars then?

The Ford T was about the first mass-produced car to go left hand drive, in 1908, and the others followed gradually, most by about 1913. The last to change was Stutz in about 1922.
