khull26
My dad recently came across this side lights. I believe after some research they are for a Stearns car. Not sure the year or model though. Anyone have any ideas?
nzcarnerd
Clearly marked as Adams Westlake so what do the letters SMCC stand for?
nzcarnerd
Interesting - Google Adams and Westlake and you find mostly railroad related stuff.
Spinneyhill
I wondered if it were SMC Co.
1912Staver
Very nice lights. The sales catalog for my 1912 Staver Chicago shows lights like these on some models. Other models are shown with "Solar" brand brass sidelamps. I have a similar but not identical pair that I bought a few years ago. Mine don't have the unusual extra bottom attachment on the mounting arm, just a standard mounting like 99 % of sidelamps. And they don't have the engraved SMC Co. on the top. I have seen them in photos of some Stearns cars from the 1911-12 era. Greg in Canada
28 Chrysler
They could be from a 1910/11-ish Sterns Motor Car. With the patent date of 8-13-07 it puts them in the 1907 - 1914 range.
30sclassics
Simplex Motor Car Company used that logo on the Amplex, 1910 or later.
28 Chrysler
I located a 1911 Stearns photo on line, bad angle but the lights look similar.
