Removing front wheel brakedrum.

Rivets? Not sure about those...

 

Here is what I do:

 

1. Jack up car, remove tire and wheel

2. Using a screwdriver, pry the center dust cap off

3. Remove cotter pin from the large nut

4. Remove the nut and washer. I seem to recall it is left hand threads on one side and right hand threads on the other

5. Wiggle the drum until the outer bearing with the balls pops out a little, then remove.

6. Remove the outer bearing inner race as well

7. Remove drum

 

If the drum is loose but it feels like something is holding it on, you may have to retract the brake shoes with a brake spoon. Spoon down to retract.
