Beemon
Mine has been like this since I've had the car, can anyone upload what the bracket should look like? (Bare, not attached to the car/ plate)
Leif Holmberg
The plate is up and down. https://www.webstore.com/item,pgr,56-1956-BUICK-SPECIAL-FRONT-LICENSE-PLATE-BRACKET,name,70723536,auction_id,auction_details Leif in Sweden. Frank DuVal
Mine looks like the photo in Leif's link. Photo is upside down (I think autocorrect made Leif say "up and down")

Beemon
Thanks guys here's what I'm working with. Think I might just buy one... haha
JohnD1956
You have what mine had. I would think you just need a backer for the plate itself. They are so thin today that they bend easily. Then a few adjustments to the contour of the bracket itself.
lancemb
Yeah, yours looks fine to me. It is a little bent but that is a very easy remedy. And as JohnD1956 noted, backer would help a lot; you can just use an old metal license plate as one.
Beemon
The front plate is about a quarter inch thick plastic with chrome laminate, pretty thick on its own. I ended up using my old ball peen hammer to straighten the bracket back out as best as I could. My grandfather Weis would be rolling in his grave if he knew I was using his hammer on a GM car haha. Looks good now, the pic above helped to determine the general shape.
