Neil G
I'm looking for a mid sized chassis, 104" up to a 110" wheelbase, the more complete the better but will consider all, mid range HP, all makes considered, thanks!

Neil G
great deal but too early and too small for my needs, I'm looking for a chassis for this body Edited November 27, 2016 by Neil G add pic (see edit history)
durospeed
Nice body, you will need at least 110" to 122" for that big landaulett body. 120" would be perfect. Open front doors are for a 1912 year and older.
1912Staver
The rear wheel arch looks to be quite far forward for a body of this type so I would think it was built for a comparatively short W.B. You are probably near the mark with your 104 -110 in W.B. request. It looks like quite a nice body. Do you have any idea of what chassis it was built for ? Being Portland built is even more interesting, can't be too many others except perhaps the odd Hearse . Neil G
the wheelbase is relative to the hood length I suppose, the approx center of the rear axle to the firewall is around 73", I could lengthen the front floor area fairly easily. No idea what chassis it was built for, the company just built bodies, I did find an ad for a body they built on a Chalmers chassis, they were out of business by 1914. http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/b/belmore_macdougall_moores/belmore_macdougall_moores.htm Edited November 28, 2016 by Neil G add (see edit history)
mercer09
Very nice body and an exciting build! Will be great to see when done. also consider a Buick chassis or similar, so you can find some spare parts when needed.

Cut chassis to length and maybe add smaller rims. Good luck,George Albright gnalbright@gmail.com I believe I have a White frame that it is identical to the one in the above listed chassis. Although mine is not for sale, I'd be happy to measure mine if you think the one listed above might work for your body. I don't have springs or axles under it so unfortunately I can't give you the wheelbase, but the frame itself is just under 16 feet long.
Neil G
That White I believe is later than 13, the chassis would dwarf the body even it it was shortened. The balance has to be right but i appreciate the leads, the perfect match is out there, is there an Eharmony for cars?

George Albright
Neil I agree, its a 10-12K car. Offer them 10K for it,doesnt seem like its going anywhere. However it is in great shape for the money and correct size wise and year wise. Plus there is a large Buick club out there that would go nuts over a Buick limo! Those are my thoughts,George
George Albright
PS Check this out: I google images 1911 Buick and found a drawing of a Buick limo VERY similar to yours! Must be charma! George
George Albright
AND I just noticed has the SAME fenders that are on the car that is for sale!!!
George Albright
Looking at the back of your body it appears the Buick fenders will fit right under the indentations for the curve of the fender and the straight back tail of the fender as well! NOW you need to get measurements of Buick from the owner and see if car body will fit. Geo.

1912Staver
The 1911 Buick pictured looks like one of the smaller 4 cyl. cars, perhaps the 201 cu. in. model 26 ? If so it is perhaps a bit too small for the big closed body. The W.B. might only be 100" , a bit on the small size. I am fairly sure it isn't a Model 38, they are quite rare and you probably would not get one in that sort of condition for $16,500.00. As far as 1911 Buick's are concerned the best choice would probably be the model 21 which I believe is a 110 " W.B. 255 Cu. In. touring car.
