Guest
Some of you may have seen this before but it's still a great color picture of Westwood at Wilshire, Los Angeles, 1946.
Jeff Perkins / Mn
Great picture which I have never seen. I would like to see the same picture today!
60FlatTop
I'm pretty sure that's at the La Brea tar pits, one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I grew up in western New York with images of the Pits like this: And 40 years old I turned off Wilshire to park. Here is the corner today Now image how I did that 70 years later sitting in a house 3,000 miles away using a satellite connection and a computer powered from the Moses Power Plant at Niagara Falls. Didn't even need a tripod and an SLR camera. Bernie Edited May 8, 2016 by 60FlatTop (see edit history)
1937hd45
Take the time with your fancy computer to show us the La Brea Tar Pits today, WELL WORTH the visit. It still oozes tar and the original smell.Bob

The Tar Pits are quite a bit east of Westwood. You didn't really expect saber tooth cats and mammoths, did you??
