Vince76
I picked this interesting bumper jack up the other day. I have looked thru thousands (seems like) of photos but have yet been able to ID it. Can anyone help me with this?My guess is that it's from the late 1940s or early 1950s.
keiser31
Try looking up that patent number. Sometimes, you get lucky. I tried, but I may have read it wrong.

joe_padavano
The patent number is 2433537, issued Dec 30, 1947 and assigned to Walker Manufacturing Co. Unfortunately, the patent applies to the basic design of the mechanism and doesn't address the unique hook on the bumper end, which I assume was the OP's real question. Patent images attached. 2433537-1.pdf2433537-2.pdf2433537-3.pdf

drwatson
This ebay posting for a "30's Plymouth" jack base might help you narrow your search if the ebayer is right. The base in the ad is a dead ringer for yours.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Plymouth-Bumper-Jack-Base-/201521502129?hash=item2eeb9e17b1%3Ag%3ATusAAOSwCypWna44&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=q77MJrJKJs0CiU6Eknb5ogIDHV0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Vince76
I'm pretty sure I found my answer. late 1940s/early 1950s Buick. The guy that bought it said he had been searching for one for 20+ years.
