bob duffer
I have this small tube on my firewall behind the engine with a flip top cover. Does anyone know what it goes to ,what , and how much to put in it? Edited July 11, 2015 by bob duffer (see edit history)
Guest outlaw car man
That's a little thing to drop a couple drops of engine oil in to lubricate the bearing. It will tell you in your shop manual. Sandy
pont35cpe
Bob, my `36 40 series has one also. That`s where you oil the clutch throw-out bearing.. manual states to oil it every 1000 mile, doesn`t say how much, I`d say 12-15 drops should be sufficient. The oil actually drips onto a piece of felt then from the felt to the ball-bearings of the throw-out.. Tom
bob duffer
Would 3 in 1 oil be good or regular engine oil?

Marty Roth
Mark, Which oil do you suggest for the Clutch Release (Throw-Out) Bearing for Bob's 1934 Buick?
60FlatTop
I would put a couple of drops of 30W in there, the distributor oil cup, and the generator if they all have one.A better question is "how long since it was last done?".Bernie
Guest outlaw car man
Marty, I would suggest a teaspoon of 30 WT engine oil every 1000 miles.
