Rogillio
Since I recently bought a new '26 Coupe I put it in the shop and have the older one in front of the shop. This morning I backed into it with my Raptor! I didn't realize it but they were locked up. When I pulled forward it drug the DB coupe and finally ripped the bumper off. What a stupid way to start my day! Edited June 18, 2015 by Rogillio (see edit history)

Pete K.
Those front brackets are getting awful hard to find in good shape. It appears those can be easily welded up to reuse them. Trick is; Take the brackets off frame, clamp them together where they bolt to the frame, then weld the broken ends back on. This way, you can see that you're welding them both straight to each other. Let them cool very slowly, bury them in sand right away if you have to for the afternoon. When cold, grind weld smooth, paint black-- you're done. Bolt the bars back on of course. I suck at welding. I am 100% self taught thru trial and error....I'm still learning.Based on you post I did not cool it by dipping in water like I normally do. I let it cool by ambient air....about 100F right now. As long as it holds the bumper on I'm good. :-)
Rogillio
Twisted that bolt off...to get access to bracket bolt but other than that all is right with the world again and back to our brandies....,I mean our regularly scheduled restoration.
