Guest 1929marquette
It just "broke" by itself in the shop.... restoration ghosts are out there. Anyone have a spare? 1929-1931 should fit. I wonder if it can be welded? recast in a foundry? Does anybody know who/where?

Guest 1929marquette
Thanks Carl! I just sent him photos. I called Dennis at dennis@locknstitch.com where they do a lot of cast metal welding, he doesn't believe that they can do much if the handle is pot metal as I believe it is. Hopefully Rich will have a spare one to part with
Joe in Canada
Any old handle will do the same thing as pot metal becomes brittle with age. If you have to buy a handle buy a new one if you are keeping the car as the next original one can break also. Mike Butters specialises in casting handles nbutters@eagle.ca Can make you a new one with the lock and you will never have to buy a replacement again. He made the interior and exterior handles for my car and you can not tell if they are original or recast.

Guest 1929marquette
I was able to have my handles done by Mike Butters in Canada. Mike is an absolute professional and a gentleman. I recommend him for any of these jobs. He works with you from start to finish and the results were amazing!! If I ever run into any casting need I will surely have Mike redo any pot metal handles. Joe in Canada
I am glad you are happy with Mikes work on your new handles. He did me 1930 Cadillac screw on interior handles that I imagine were a nightmare to do and they came out flawless. Mike will make any part your car may need as he also made the parts for my seat adjusters. Anyone I have ever sent to Mike has been totally impressed with him and his work. Happy motoring Joe
