  1. Excuse my "too new" car question. I was referred here from the postwar group because - well, the hope that there's more knowledge here about what I'm considering: In working on a '51, I begin the search that many have to overcome in one way or another - the "moustache" bar that frames the top of the grille. There's maybe a 5-foot-long center section, and 2 smaller "L" pieces that form the ends. My questions are: 1. Anyone know of a supplier of custom castings? 2. Anyone familiar with the path of making replica parts - as far as trademark/copyright or other rights - especially since these actually have the Buick name cast right into the front?
  2. It just "broke" by itself in the shop.... restoration ghosts are out there. Anyone have a spare? 1929-1931 should fit. I wonder if it can be welded? recast in a foundry? Does anybody know who/where?
  3. Hello all, I am in the process of looking into having some spark, light, and throttle levers cast in brass for my 1930 Commander FD. I've found a local foundry here in Chicago which is able to do small order casting and I wondering if anyone needs additional copies of these levers. I'm not sure if there's a discount for bulk orders, but I just wanted to throw it out there to see if there's any intrest. Let me know. Thanks.

  5. A new automotive show for a major cable network is looking for your classic car restoration story. Seeking hot rodders, muscle car fiends, and guys and girls with that almost finished classic pick-up truck. We’re looking for projects with a strong story behind them, be it a relative’s old car, a car your spouse wants finished NOW, a surprise graduation or wedding present, etc. The program follows customers as they visit a salvage yard that WILL have that rare part they’ve been looking for to finish their project car. We’d like to see the happy ending to your quest to complete your classic. Looking for car guys and girls, of all ages, in the Southern Arizona area or willing to travel to AZ to get that part. The yard stocks any and all vintage domestic autos, so contact us, no matter how rare your ride! Please email: carshowcasting@gmail.com Please include a brief paragraph with info on yourself, your car, and the STORY behind your restoration. Feel free to also include a couple photos of your car, or a link to your project blog.
