Guest Dennis Johnson
Can't quite read the name on the radiator. Anyone offer any help? I really like the lugged tires on the rear.
JFranklin
I think the radiator emblem looks like an Overland
Dave Mellor NJ
Here's an early teens overland. I'm not sure of the year .The rad emblem is on a slight slant while the emblem on the subject car looks level. nzcarnerd
I think the date is 1913 - the year of interim styling before most cars became torpedo styled with a flowing line from hood to body. The look with the gas lamps mounted on the cowl is similar to this 1913 Chalmers - Chalmers photographs and Chalmers technical data - allcarcentral.com - but it is not a chalmers. Those 'lips' on the front fenders are very distinctive; square-edged where on many cars that had them they were more rounded.
nzcarnerd
So far the only make I have found which had the fronts of the front fenders like this was Stutz. Here is a pic of a 1912 - http://theoldmotor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/12-tour.jpg - although the cowl area is quite different.
Curti
I don't think it is Overland. Notice the triangles on the cowl. There is a similar car in the What is it sub forum. 1912 Warren Detroit
Layden B
1912 Cole
Ian Hayhurst
Interesting that Layden's Cole has the question mark style rear fenders, but Dennis' curve down. Perhaps a mid-year change? Still gas lights. I like the cowl vents, bale-handle side lamps, unusual windshield support rods.Ian HayhurstClaremont, ON
