Guest Paul Christ
I found this photo on the Internet and don't recognize the make of the auto. The only information provided with the photo was 'Detroit Police 1912'. I think the soft windshield is interesting, and the front bumper looks as if it was made for ramming stuff! Since this car has lighting mounted on it, I wonder if the handheld lantern hanging off the rear was for use during foot patrols after dark? Any idea what kind of car this is? Chris Paulsen
I believe it is a 1912 Chalmers, but I haven't double-checked it online or with the Standard Catalog. That's where I'd look first.I hope this helps,Chris
caddyshack
I don't believe that it is a Cadillac. The front fenders and cowl lights just don't look right. If it was a 1912 Model 30, electric lamps were used. The auto would not have a crank start, and the radiator did not have an emblem. Just an opinion, could be wrong.Skip

Vintman
Hi,My vote goes to Chalmers because of the step-down chassis below the rear door. Badge when enlarged looks very similar to Chalmers. Also air intake grille on the front of the bulkhead which is flat so cca 1911 ??RegardsVintman (UK)
West Peterson
Since it has front doors, it is a 1912 model. There may be some 1912 models titled as 1911, but the doors signify 1912. The car in Leif's link is actually a 1912, but titled as a 1911.
