Grandpa
It appears that these guys are hard at work converting an early passenger car into a road racer. In the back of the shop there is a dark colored touring car, complete with the windshield and steering wheel, which rules it out as the body from the chassis in the foreground. The photo was taken in Southern California. Any thoughts as to the ID of the car these mechanics are working on?Grandpa
Lozierman
Looks like a Pope Hartford. I'd say about a 1910.
keiser31
Yes, it DOES look like a Pope-Hartford.
Chris Paulsen
Definitely Pope-Hartford. The seemingly short wheelbase makes me think, it might be just a little earlier than 1910, though. Chris
cessna195
My brother has a 1909 Model S and it has rear springs horns just like the one in the photo.John
