Guest Louie
In the last month, the wildcat has been media blast, one coat of etching acid primer, and 3 coats of primer. Lots of sanding , blocking and patches. Queen Mary III starting to take shape and be ready soon for the coats of filler primer. Guest imported_Thriller
Cool...I really hope that Rainier is a V8...I'm pretty sure the inline 6 wouldn't get the job done, unless perhaps it was just chassis and body.
Guest Louie
Derek, Yes it is the V8 AWD CXL Model, towing capacity is 7800 lbs. the Wildcat is 4200 and the trailer is 1800, not a problem for the Rainier. Even towed this Baby home with no problems.
Guest imported_Thriller
There are days I regret having gotten the 6, particularly when the fuel economy isn't what I would expect from a 6...they should have dropped in the 3800 instead

Final paint will be a super gloss enamel mixed by Auto Paint Pro. Met him at the Syracuse Nationals in 08 and is alot cheaper than the local paint store. 888PAINT44 is his toll free number. The last car Paul did for me was my 1969 GS350.
Guest imported_Thriller
If a custom paint job is what someone wants to do on a Wildcat, I'd like to see orange with black stripes...or a yellow / cream with black spots. Maybe I should just get a model and try it on the smaller scale...I don't think Ellie would appreciate that change.
Guest Louie
Derek, Queen Mary III will be high gloss black, want her to look like a piece of black ice. Guest Louie
John, before we get to clear coat it, there be lots of wet sanding and buffing. Wet sanded a corner of the rear quarter, and still not completely cure, so decided to give it another day of curing, air is very humid due to rain in the air. Guest Louie
The Queen Mary III has been finished with the wet sanding and earlier this week, three coats of clear were applied. The Wildcat has been placed in a tent to cure for few days before the more wet sanding and polishing starts.

Guest Louie
This weekend I took the GS350 to the Syracuse Nationals, while there I pick up the bumpers, headlight bezels, taillights bezels for the Wildcat from Sandy's Bumper Mart. serb
Louie,It looks wonderful, I'd be afraid to leave it parked within 100 feet of anything. You are going to need crime scene tape to keep other cars and idiots away from it.Stevo
serb
I do not know if it is even polite to ask how you liked the chrome job and how many $$$$$$$$ ?
Guest Louie
Stevo, consideriing I had front bumper, rear bumper (3 pieces) tail light bezels (2) head light bezels (2) head light trim rings (4) grille surround (3 pieces) hood spear (1 piece) signal light bezels (2 pieces) and 2 sail panel pieces for 64 Mercury for about 3800.00 The work is great, very happy, this is the 3 time we have used Sandy's Bumper Mart. serb
That sounds like a very reasonable cost for that amount of work. If you have been happy in the past, that is great advertising. What kind of turn around time did you experience? Being that Syracuse is only about 150 from here, I willhave to write that down and keep it for future reference. I get to Syracuse and Cicero about 4 or 5 times a month.Stevo
Guest Louie
Stevo, the turn around is between 8 to 10 weeks, provided no commerical accounts flood him with work. The amount of stuff you drop off will also determine the amount of time for returns.
Guest Louie
There has been no updates due the fact that last weekend was the Buick Nationals in Hebron, Ohio where they had the first ever GSX Reunion. I took the 71 GSX and had a ton of fun with all the other GSX owners and regular Buick guys and gals. A few pictures of the event.

JohnD1956
That 63 is going to be the hit of the club when you're done Louie. Meanwhile the GSX Reunion looked like a fantastic time too. Was there more than just GSx's there?
Guest Louie
John, yes, there was everything you can think of there. The other Buicks were parked on the other end of the track near the entrance. There also were the racers with their Turbo 6 Cars, 455 drag cars. It was like being in a candy store with no supervision
