  1. All, Please contact via PM if you have any of these items: Jones-Manville 115H Speedometer (black face 0-60) Dimmer coil for Clum ignition (need for 'dim' setting') After market front bumper and mounting brackets Appreciate any and all leads... Richard
  2. The body tag should have the paint, interior and top color code. Typically, but not always, the tops were color-matched to the body. I suspect that yours was blue originally - it may have been one of the 'firemist' metallics as I can't remember if there was any other blue available.
  3. I am in North Alabama, Huntsville, but go to Nashville often to see a best friend and god daughter. I have a 1919 Touring and have done lots of mechanical work. Be glad to help in anyway. PM me and I will send my contact details - for outside of the forum contact. This forum is awesome and most are more than willing to share their knowledge.
  4. I have the remnants of one wood bow in my top iron that is clearly nailed. Looks like the old cut nails which makes sense - you would want the side curtains to hang flat against the metal and not rub on anything.
  5. This should be relisted today or the next couple.
  6. Fellow DBers, I am finally tackling the top on my 1919 Touring. I have the steam bent bows in hand and need some critical measurements before I start sizing the bows to fit the top irons. The top bows I have are definitely not original. There is no one nearby that I can drop in and take some measurements so I need to ask a favor of those of you that have an original car or top bows that you believe are representative of the originals. What is the measurement from the open end of the top iron socket to the top of the bow (horizontal with the ground - top fabric side) for each of the 4 bows? I contact Mr. Hartley and he does not have this in the database but did comment that all the bows should line-up nicely when folded back. Any information will be shared with all, any future club members who need these dimensions. Thank you in advance, Richard Pope
  7. It is a 1927 Willys-Knight 70A. All original for what I can tell.
  8. I am an AACA/DB club member helping a widow start this car and prepare it for resale. I *think* I know all the right fluid vicosities (30W non-detergent oil, 600W for tranny and rear end) but what I don't know is how to check for the proper level for all three. Any markings on the tranny case? Is the rear end like my DB where you have two bolts (high for filling and when the oil comes out the low bolt hole it is at the correct level)? Thanks in advance,
  9. The coiled wire looks like the 'dimmer' coil tha tI am supposed to have on my 1919. Is this to some kind of spotlight?
  10. Two comments come to my mind. 1. Hemmings Calendar 2. Hearing the owner say 'Nah, not for sale...I'll get to those projects one day'
  11. Actually 10. 4 on the ground. 4 in the back seat. 2 on the fender
  12. I see nine bottles. 3 in the back seat, 1 up front behind the windshield, 3 on the ground, 2 on the fender. Anyone see more....
  13. Look up a company called 'SKYPE'. It really is just peenies and you call through your computer (Mic and speakers)
  14. Just going through a Model T vendors catalog and see that they offer top bow sets in the same width as I need (or that I tihnk I need) for my DB (54"). My questions to the more knowledgeable and experienced: Has anyone done this substitution? I do have a call into a recommended top bow person but I can't seem to call at a good time to talk personally. Thanks in advance, Richard
  15. Trimacar...thanks for the contact info I appreciate it. I will call today. Artyo49...I might. I know I have hood pieces but not sure what year they are from (came as alot with the car). Mine does not fit so well (1919) and need to check which one is correct/closest fit.
  16. All, As the title suggests, I am looking for a replacement front header bow or someone who can make one. I can use my old broken one as a pattern but just wanted to check to see if anyone out there had a spare or knew a source. Vendors feel free to contact me directly via PM or on this message board. Thanks for your time... Richard
  17. Jon, Post in the Dodge Brothers forum as that probably gets more traffic than this forum. Yes, Non-detergent 30W is the engine oil to use. The rough measurement is around 5 quarts - you should go by the float that sticks out of the block just next to the starter/generator. The top of the stick should be about .5 below the top of the cylinder casting. If you have two ticks marks on the block that is the high and low fill marks. Contact some of the DB part suppliers for a reproduction of the manual. These are simple/durable motors. Just take your time and you should have lots of fun.
  18. Astroguy, The only stupid question is one that is not asked.... I tihnk you will find this forum a wealth of information and full of helpful people. Keep the questions coming
  19. Sent you a PM. I will take photos and post here. Not sure what to ask. Glad to see it go to use though.....
  20. I have a 3804A that I got with my Touring. The front plate is broken and the fuse holder is bent, but I think it is all there. It's big and heavy. I am in North Alabama.
  21. Is the spark and throttle control on the left or right side of the steering column? If it is on the left then maybe they flipped the column and that is why it is reversed.
  22. The float probably isn't stuck...its full of oil. The only fix is to remove your oil pan and then solder the tiny hole back up.
