  1. Where is the orig. fog light switch on a '48 Continental? Also, tell me what you know about the last year of the orig. continental!
  2. I am interested in what everyone knows about the 1948 Lincoln Continental, any information! From technical to cosmetic, etc., Anything!
  3. Well, I have had the car painted a candy apple red, since, those pics. and it looks great (wasnt going to do it at that point, but, I could not get any insurance with the way it looked!) and I got some red vinyl door panels and some vintage red plaid seat covers. And I do drive it everyday, everywhere! The article turned out nice, there was only 2 mistakes in the article (as there are with things in print!) that part where it says about my grandma giving me a problem about it and how she owned the car, that was my mom giving me a problem not my grandmother, though they both are pests! (so, it was not 100% incorrect!) But, I love the article maybe, I can get my '48 in there next?
  4. I have always felt that a car should stay original (within reason, replacing non-working parts, etc.) and not be chopped up, 350'ed or anything else, I have always felt that it would be like me breaking into the national archives and stealing the Constitution and scratching out words and making revisions in the margins and changing it as I see fit. TELL ME YOUR OPINION!
  5. zeffer1940, I am holding a funeral for your car! Just kidding! It is nice, but, you should only do that to a car when there is nothing left but the body, if there was anything more, you have done a diservice to the preservation of Historical vehicles and the way they were built. In effect it would be like, if I broke into the National Archives and stole the Constitution and scratched out words and made corrections in the margins!
  6. I have a similar problem with my 48 Cont. and I have to pull the left side of the hood up and pull the latch! A finiky thing!
  7. Tell me what you think of my '41 Dodge's Article!
  8. Yes it is! good catch! I have now had it painted Candy Apple Red again and I have vintage red Plaid seat covers on the inside!
  9. No, I do not have that, are you interested in the other stuff?
  10. I do not have the car, I found the VIN on an old non-op just curious what it was!
  11. Ok the vin is: OJ3IP509M56 I would like to know the Model and year.
  12. I am looking for my great grandmother's 1936 Plymouth with California license 591TLC sold out of the family in S. CA in 1985 or so.
  13. Ok, I found an ancient state of CA non -op and there is a vin number on it- OJ3IP509M56 I was wondering what Year make and model this was for. Thanks
  14. So, what is this cadillac diesel buisness from 1981 in the Sevilles and the Eldorardo Barritz's? How where they and I hear that they get good gas mileage. Tell me what you think.
  15. Wow, many different idea's! We will be discussing this at our next Classic Car Club meeting on campus. I hope everyone is as well versed as all of you!
  16. Well, it is from S. CA and it came out of a 1947 Dodge Coupe-Check out the Chrysler, Dodge, and Desoto pages for a 'better' post! Know anyone interested?
  17. Well, you do not have to look at the same ad over and over if you do not want! And what is wrong with me posting it in several different areas! Different people look at different sections, even though they are chrysler family! ex. I usually do not look at Chrysler posts just Dodge! 'Let's see... someone thinks a Dodge 6 isn't worth leaving in a Dodge... yet someone ought to pay $600 for it??? What does he think a Chev 350 is worth??? Obviously it must be a way better, more valuable engine than the Dodge or he wouldn't have gone to the bother???' Rusty, For your info I have a completly stock 1941 Dodge Business coupe that has been in my family since 1955 and will be in the driveable dream section of Hemmings Classic Car in the Jan. 2008 issue (before the paint). I frown upon anyone replacing perfect original components like the spare engine I am getting rid of in this post for a 350 or non orig. components from some other brand (these parts were just extra ones I picked up, because, I wanted the tranny from the set and I got the set less than the tranny would have cost any where else). The Dodge 6 cyl of the late 30's through forties has to be one of the most fuel efficient (mine gets 20 in town) and long lasting engines (mine has almost 100000 orig. miles and it is the quietest engine even after sitting outside, not running for 20 years) Also, after my car's hibernation it just fired right up and I drive it on the fwy. in 100+ degree heat in S. CA without a problem. Oh, did I mention that I am a member of the WPC? and my Uncle has a 52 dodge? and that I am 19 years old and prefer only original cars? (No 350 or muffler or low wheel crap in my collection! Must be all orig.!) There I posted it again! That being said, is anyone interested in the running gear?
