  1. Look here. Buick Car Pics You may find something. Mainly hot rods, but occasionally has good restored unmolested car images (as favored on this site)
  2. More to the good advise above, download the 1952 manual from www.teambuick.com 1952 Buick Chassis Manual, All Series May need to register for the site
  3. As you are living in Poland, will be difficult & expensive, but is a very fine car. Steering wheel, headlights, rear/back lights(maybe?), and grill are the same for all 1937 Buicks, series 40 60 80 90 . For the suspension image not sure if it is for series 40 S60 and/or S80 S90 As in an other post Try Dave Tacheny (he should give me a discount as I refer him so often) Area number is 763 now, not 612 The Largest Vintage Buick gallery on the web - PreWarBuick.com 1936 & 1937 Buicks are very different bodies, but some common mechanical's
  4. Nice family car worth keeping. I note you live in Norway In the Buick Club of America 2011 roster there are 18 1929 model 27's listed as being owned by club members There are also 31 Norwegian memeber's in the BCA, but none listed as 1929 owner's. (BCA as my link below) Other 29 Buick -- Home Buick Club of Norway PO Box 6565 Etterstad, 0606, Oslo, Norway
  5. 6. Malcolm: welcome to the forum Better to post in Chrysler/Mopar (where it will likely be moved by the moderators when they wake up)) This "forum questions: is for questions on the software etc
  7. Also worth checking the cable is not broken. Disconnect at the transmission and and the speedo. Turn by hand to check it turns (freely) If you cannot disconnect from the transmission, try turning by a variable speed electrical drill from the transmission end Having arms with 3 joints helps . Have fun !!
  8. I think the engine in that car is 1948 or later, as it has 4 tapped holes on the block under the coil for the (original) engine mounts
  9. As above (hidden) rust is an issue. The rear valance panel is double skinned, where the bumper brackets come out. Rusts from within. This blog shows it well 1939 Special Business Coupe [This car was sold on ebay a while ago at a very good price (for the buyer)] '39 series 40 transmission & diff have many 1 year only parts. However a '39 team member has successfully adapted a '41 transmission (much better parts availability) If you can drive it, check that it changes gear OK, does not jump out of gear on acceleration or de-acceleration and/or make [expensive] noises.
  10. 1939 S40 & S60 Steering box changed at frame x3439464 [x--- 1=Flint, 2= Cal, 3=Linden] Never got to ask Dave C what month that was 1942 shop manual is the best. 100 times better than the 1938 & 1939 shop manuals Gary: email me a picture if you cannot upload. (go to "go advanced")
  11. 1939 Buick series 40 & 60 the steering box ratio changed during production Image below is for 1939 S40 and S60 - 2nd type:- group 6.850 part 265426 First type was used on 1937 1938 & 1939 (up to frame 3398912) S40 & S60:- group 6.850 part 263278 They all look the same. May be 1939 or some other year / make Without a part number or a sample to carefully measure from impossible to know what you have.

  22. One of the reasons I suggested walking into these places: better service. Some guys will just give you 50 to 100 mm of the stuff:- not worth the hassle of an invoice, especially is you mention its for your own old car. Yep: a lot of places have a min delivery charge $15 to $25. They send by courier bag or truck (not Australia post). Buying $10 or or $1000 delivery is still $20. I use this at times to get items from WA suppliers overnight to take advantage of the time difference. And delivery is still $20, just the same as getting from the next suburb. Tucks web site was better before they enhanced it Reece's are just a plumbing wholesaler. Blackwoods have a vast range with young guys on the phone/counter. You need to know their internal part number. These are on line and they also have a good thick printed catalog Hope you get want you need
  23. Tucks are good supplier [my favorite: I buy piping gaskets by the hundred]. Or try Blackwoods, James Walker, Klinger, or agaus.com.au. Look in yellow pages for gaskets & packing. Bearing shops also can sell packing. Best to walk into these places with your pump and try to talk to someone with behind the counter grey hair (experienced) . Do not go to car part places.
  24. Welcome to the forum Casting number is not the Buick part number. Sometimes it is:- most times it is not Brake Master cylinder Group 4.650 part 5450320 1939 S40 special S60 Century and 1940 S40 S50 S60 S70 [s = series] Try Dave Tacheny (he should give me a discount as I refer him so often) Area number is 763 now, not 612 From The Largest Vintage Buick gallery on the web - PreWarBuick.com While the first 3 to reply to your request are '39 team member's, we do like 40's (but not as much) And we like photos of straight 8's
