1. I will double-check tomorrow but I think I have one out of an '89.
2.

Originally Posted By: Screwtape

wtf is an '03 Buick Rendezvoux?

Hey Screwball, here's the link. Buick Rendezvous
3. pn, you should do the key test. It's easy and it if flashes a 55 (5 flashes, pause, 5 flashes) then there are no codes in your computer. 55 is end of list.
4. Larry, I have a hard top very reasonably priced if you're ever up near VA. Also, the driver's seat switch and passenger's seat switch are identical. See if you can swap them out to see if the switch is bad or if it's the wiring or the motors. If you need a new seat switch I have one of those as well. Wheels should be a brushed/painted aluminum look, and they are different than the LeBaron Basket wheels - the TC wheels are made by Fondmetal. Grill surround is chrome, with chrome penta-trident in the center, but the egg crating is black.
5. Well, the problem went away by itself.... go figure.
6. The same reason that sometimes putting on my left turn signal made my radio cut out in my LeBaron. Voodoo Electrix.
7. TC Toy, the one I had on my parts car had one bad bulb. Once the bulb was replaced (no other work performed) the unit functioned fine. Removing one bulb caused the entire unit not to function. Is it possible that once again, depending upon the year, things may have been done differently, as is the case with so many other things about these cars?
8. Also, for some reason the bulbs are wired in series so if one goes out, none of them work. The bulbs are cheap so while you have it apart, go ahead and replace all of them.
9. If it was Lancaster, PA and not CA I would have gone and looked at it. It's just on the wrong coast for me.
10. I have some nice interior trim pieces out of my 89 parts car. Radio/CD Player/Cubby Surround in Ginger Leather with Maserati Emblem. Very Good condition, minimal wear. Includes original mounting hardware. Sale Pending Radio/HVAC Control Surround, Woodgrain Piece. Near Perfect. Includes original mounting hardware. Window Switch Plates, Driver's and Passenger's side. Very Good Condition. Sale pending on Passenger's Plate Sun Visors, Driver's and Passenger's sides. Very Good Condition, Tiny nick in vinyl on driver's visor at the fold. Illuminated Mirrors work. Ginger Vinyl. 89 Ginger Leather MOMO Steering wheel. Excellent condition. Shows some wear on upper left hand spoke (visible in picture) but absolute minimal wear anywhere else. Entertaining reasonable offers.
11. I have a few body parts left from my parts cars that I'm looking to move. I have a driver's door from an '89, yellow (not oem paint) with a scratch above the moulding, no rust, shell only (no door panels or window), $50 or best offer. I have a near perfect passenger front fender from a '90, somewhat faded exotic paint that will polish up fairly well, but no peeling clearcoat, no rust, no dents. $50 obo I have driver's and passengers front fenders from an '89. Non-oem yellow paint. ~Driver's has a shallow crease that doesn't penetrate the paint, and can easily be made to perfect. $35 obo ~Passenger's is in very good shape except for non-oem paint. $40 obo I have a non-OEM yellow hardtop from an '89. Ginger headliner with no tears but could use some cleaning. The fiberglass is not cracked or damaged. One porthole is very good, the other has some clouding. $100 obo. Shipping available for all (except hardtop) for cost of shipping.
12.

Quote:

So, there is always hope. Remember, we are not talking about junk cars here, which I think you will all agree should be off the road, we are talking about collector cars in good working order and many of which are used only on special occasions (when the sun shines!).

Therein lies the rub. What defines junk? I had a 65 Dodge Dart. Highly collectible? Not really. But it was a fantastic car, got high 20's mpg and went over 400k on the original slant six engine and tranny. It was also 4 shades of primer grey. To some, my Dart might be considered junk. I had many who called it a POS. Yet my POS continued to be driven long after other folks cars had come and gone to the great scrap yard in the sky. To me it was reliable transportation and a car my family enjoyed for 40+ years, and is still living on in a MOPAR household not far from me.
13. I have a hardtop as well. Like Jeffn, I'm open to offers. Mine is yellow with ginger headliner. No holes or tears in the liner. No cracks in the fiberglass. One window cloudy; one clear. The biggest problem is their size and weight price them out of a reasonable price even when the actual sales prices IS reasonable. *sigh* Mine is in Central VA. Pics can be seen in the link in my signature.
14. I have both quarter windows. I also have the motor/regulator assemblies for both windows, tested and they work. What do you mean by the glass channel? Do you mean the regulator guide? BTW, we have previously done business - I sold you a front turn signal, the seat back releases and a few other parts.
15. Cool Car Lou! Was it on ebay for a while? It looks familiar.....
16. Lou, Lou, Lou, you definitely need to take before and after pics and post them. I wish I'd done that on a few of my projects. So get out there with that thar fancy digital camera of yours and start snapping!
17. TwinCam knows his stuff pretty good; Tom on the other hand....
18. Hey Lou, I sent him the same message. Did you get a snotty response back about having too much time on your hands?
19. If you are refering to trunk lid assist pistons, you need to take the measurement lengthwise of your piston fully extended and then go and find a pair of the same measurement. You should be able to find something. If not, I think I have a spare set of trunk lifts for sale that worked.
20. I have the stainless windshield trim if you need it. If you need a windscreen to get by and make your car driveable, this is the one thing from a LeBaron 'vert that transfers over. Finding an original sekurit windscreen - not so easy.
21. Just as an FYI, your lug nut wrench will also work the hex nut when you need to manually release your tops.
