  1. Remember yo need the pedal to do the swap with no issues.
  2. Pull the brake system out of a 87' Riv. This should be a great replacement for those who do not want to deal with the Teeves and Do not care for ABS. Hope it helps some one. Also keep in mind yo may want to make new rear linse for this, as the Riv brake lines are about 6 inches longer.
  3. Pac-audio.com Steering Wheel Interface | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future Pick a device, most any as long as it has a IR remote. Then Buy the PAC interfacw listed in above link. This interface hooks into the two green that send the signals between the TCC and radio brain (and many other things). This will allow you to use the touch screen as if it was steering wheel controls. I suggest using only the Tape functions, this will not interfere with any other controls if you ar not using the tape player. Keep in mind that FFW and RW become play when press a second time. Also sorry for the lack of pictures and indepth write up. I did this over a year ago. Hope it helps and if any one has a question I will try to answer it.
  4. I will see what I can do with the drawing 4 U.
  5. Has any one used a 87' Riv CRT? Is the wiring the same? I pulled one today and like the fact that it is all touch, instead of buttons to switch modes.
  6. Just controls it. I will try to do a quick wright up this weekend. Basically the controls are standard GM for the time period. This ment that I could use a steering wheel control adapter to change the tape operation buttons to operate (through IR emitter) a half-din DVD player mounted in between the driver seat and councel. I guess you could mount it anywhere. I will write it up this weekend
  7. I did the 98-02 upgrade. Pretty much a bolt-on afair. Just make sure you get the bracket with them. Also u need at least 16" rims.
  8. 1. I control a DVD with the CRT (via a intergrated steering wheel control unit modified to use with the CRT) 3. Aux inputs are already on the radio brain/amp. Have not done the pre amp, but I use a caddy radio with only low level outputs on it. I am very interested to know if the tap in methode works.
  9. Padgett, That is them. The diffrent radios did not change too much internaly. So if some one can mod the radios with that I would love to know.
  10. You must contact Delphi (delco) to get the internal schematics. They will mail them to you for free, if they are not on digits. I would give you mine, but I have no way to scan them into PDF as they are too big for my scanner. I will see if I can find one to use at work.
  11. Are yo looking for the internal radio drawings? If so I have them, but you will have to request a set from Delphi if you want a set. I do have a lot of ideas about what I want to do with the brain. I just do not have the expert know how to do what I would like. The down fall to tapping the preamp is that you will stil get bass rolloff from the factory EQ (or tone depending on the radio brain) The 1995 Caddy modle woks well for amplifing, but still has rolloff. The thing someone needs to figure out is how to reprogram the EQ to eliminate the roll off. I have a few other ideas, but they are even more far fetched than that one.
  12. It is hard for me not to light up the tires. If the ground is wet even my 255's break loose at 35mph. On the other hand I kind of have a little more torque than most.
  13. Whatever yo do use a full engine, not just the supercharger. It will last longer and be an easier swap.
  14. Check the bulbs, when I first go mine they did the same thing. Working then not.
  15. I am using a 5 speed out of a 3800 Camaro. The only real manufacturing will be the fly wheel and mounts. I wanted to use the 3800 SC engine, but the intake is too much of a mod to overcome for me. I know a 350 would be easier, but I kind of like odd things, and this will be one of the oddest I have ran into.
  16. I want one in a Reatta, but I am planning on putting one in a gen one RX7 first.
  17. The trany is the same, just upgraded for the Cadys. I would just upgrade with the whole cradle engine and all.
  18. If none are found Jim Flin has always quoted me great prices on many parts. He also seems to have most parts available.
  19. Padgett, Do we know that the 89' caddy stream is diffrent from the 89' Reatta? I know I am currently using a 89' caddy BCM in my Reatta (proms switched of course). If the streams are diffrent then that would mean that the code for them is stored in the proms?
  20. Here is how it would work without too much of an issue. The subframe, BCM, are the same as a Eldorado. This means the ECM out of the same would comunicate with the BCM in the Reatta and any of us that have added the compass or radio brains know that the display control will addapt on its own. So all in all it would be a quick easy swap, with the hardest part being a possible repin on the ECM plugs. I would do it for some one for little to nothing. I may even think about buying one building it up a bit and slapping it in to mine or an other low end 88'-89'Reatta
  21. You will have to hard wire to the alpine harness.
  22. GM OEM Adapters - 21 Pin Car to 12-Pin Radio
  23. Have you double checked your wires? I mean you could have swapped two and not noticed. Just a thought. These engines and ingnition systems run pretty well when a couple wires get switched.
  24. Yes tweeters in the front and back. I am not sure about when, but I have used 4 ohm speakers with stock Delco radios ever sense my 1978 Delta 88. I have never had any issues using them, and I usally play my music pretty loud.
  25. I would buy a 4 ohm, component set and replace both. The radio brain will hold down to 4 ohms with no issues. You may have to fade twards the front to get a even balance if you are using stock front speakers.
