Thats quite a coincidence, I still have 3 Reatta's (2 are parts cars) but I mostly drive my 2000 Honda Insight too. I flew out to Portland and bought one needing a new IMA battery, immediately drove to BumbleBee Battery (In Portland) and bought a new battery, then drove to Vegas for a week and then back to Minneapolis. I have been in love with 1st gen Insights ever since and now I have 4.
  2. Try bringing in a printout of what it costs online with discount and have them match it, it works at my store. I have changed to all advance batteries because of the great discounts...sometimes $50 off $100 but normally 10 off 25, 20 off 50 and 40 off 100 Their batteries have lasted as long as the walmart batteries I used to buy, ever did.
  3. A cheap thrift store steamer works well and fast, doesn't use chemicals and refills are free.
  4. It has been for sale all summer and good luck getting $5900 with 120k miles.
  5. At $500 per parts car (that's what they are) that would make them $3000 Total.
  6. The 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE had the Teves abs and was the first non Corvette to get abs
  7. I was just doing a little reading and came across this diagram using the neg wire to trigger the relay, I wonder if that might produce the proper result. Circuit 3 shows turning the relay on/off with the ground wire instead of +12V. This might be an easier way to wire a relay depending on the situation.

  9. Redone or from a 88? https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/4000756274.html
  10. I have now used the new harnesses for 2 months now, as long as I have the fog lights switched on (I normally do anyway) and I turn off the headlights before I turn off the car (otherwise the headlight doors stay open) the lights work fine, they just stay on for 3-4 seconds after the headlight doors close. As I stated before....I will never go back to even the 55w Hella lights as the 80w lights make it a pleasure to drive at night and at no time has anyone flashed me thinking I had the brights on. Considering the price of silverstars and the $7 price of the Hella 80/100's bulbs, this conversion is well worth it for safety reasons alone....IMHO
  11. I just changed my headlights to the hella's, I made up the power harness to get power straight from the alternator and also used the alternator for the ground point. I went with the 80/100 watt hella bulbs and I WILL NEVER GO BACK, the increased vision is NIGHT and DAY from the originals. The Hella (cibie is the brand recommended now) housings have very sharp cutoffs and the light goes where it is needed, and the hella replacement bulbs are about $8 I should have done this years ago.
  12. What he said......Plus do you really believe that the economy is improving and those elusive middle class buyers have found extra money to blow on collector cars?
  13. Has anyone determined if the Dorman 924-004 will work for our Reatta's? Thanks
  14. The ground hole is the hole on the back of the alternator which normally doesn't have a bolt inserted but can be used as a ground point (as far as I know)
  15. Update: the headlights go down if I have the fog/driving lights on. My Reatta is a 89 I mounted the relays on the front of the relay center cover. I have no clearance issues with the sockets that I have noticed.
